Four years have passed by. So much has happened. Seems like only yesterday when I, a naive, shy 17 year old came to this planet called GIK. Like many others, I experiences a freedom that we never had. A freedom to do what ever we desired, to be what ever we wished to be.
People came from all walks of life, many races and many faces. Each person was a world in himself. Life in the hostel was very scary at first. It was just like my first day at school, confused and totally lost. But then I met a few people. Some whom I liked and who went on to become my fast friends and those I didn’t like… Well I tried to stay away from them. But one thing was for sure; that I was surrounded by a bunch of very intelligent men and it felt good.
Teachers, I saw all kinds of them. Good teachers and bad ones, some that were amazing and some that did not have the slightest idea what they were teaching. But at the end, we learnt the subject. In GIKI, I got the opportunity to do so much. To show my talents and do things I always craved to do. Debating changed me, and the way I looked at things. The trip up the GIK hills, the visit to Shogran, the mountaineering course at Gilgit, fulfilled of my thirst for adventure. I had a lot of ups and down during my stay in GIKI. But my friends were always there for me. Although I do regret loosing a few, but in the end I had gained a lot. GIK would have been hell without them.
At the end of these four years I’ve realized that engineering is not whether you can design a circuit or build a robot, but it is an attitude. An attitude towards life and the things that come ones way. GIK has given me that attitude. Although I cursed GIKI throughout these 4 years, but now I realize that it was a job well done.

The party animal of the batch.. a fun loving, honest, sincere guy who’s witty, fun login and kind. Has the ability to question everything and anything. I probably couldn’t be the best of friends, but I have always enjoyed your company. A very hard working student and a dreamer. Will miss seeing you around.

In GIK I have learnt 2 very important lessons. One to believe in myself and secondly that nothing is impossible if you are dedicated enough. I am not sure about my future, but I know that I can and will make it big. Inshallah.
